My research interests include computational mechanics, computational design, flexible and soft robotics, additive manufacturing, and their application and implementation from the engineering and design perspectives.

ONGOING research projects
Pre-surgical patch inverse design based on corotated thin-shell FEM
May 2020 - present
Heat and light responsive actuator system design based on LCE, involving material characterization, theoretical modeling and numerical analysis.
Tumor deformation tracking: ANN based deformation reconstruction
May 2020 - present
Implement PCA on tumor’s deformation fields and obtain PCA’s weights, then pick fiducial markers within the tumor and obtain their displacement vector. Train an ANN based on the displacement vector and the corresponding weights and use it to reconstruct the tumor’s whole deformation.
PaDGAN aerodynamic design: GAN-based optimization for aircraft’s wings
May 2020 - present
Establish the pipeline called PaDGAN based on Generative Adversial Network (GAN) and Determinantal Point Process (DPP); Verify both the aerodynamic performance and design’s diversity; Implement PaDGAN on 3D aircraft’s wings.
